From sketch to bronze
Germán Acosta was born in Perú. When he was a teenager, he encountered a sculpture workshop by accidentally opening an unsecured door in El Museo de Arte de Lima. First time seeing clay figures on sculpture stands. He signed up on the spot. Soon after, he immigrated to the United States in 2006 to pursue higher education in Sculpture and Business. He continued his Sculpture and painting training taking workshops in Philadelphia and Rome. He became a sculptor’s apprentice for renowned sculptor Robert Taplin in Connecticut. In 2014, he earned an AS in Business from Atlantic City Community College and a B.S. in Marketing from Rutgers University (2016). Today, Germán is a figurative bronze sculptor and painter with studios at The Noyes Arts Garage in Atlantic City. Also, he is The Director of Communications for Rome Art Residencies, www.romeartresidencies.com the premier art workshop in Rome since 2019. Collaborates with painter Amanda Auble, sculptor Brian Booth Craig, sculptor James Dessicino and sculptor Stephen Layne.
